If you would like to participate in the Layer Cake Quilt Along in March over on Chic n Clique …. here’s the fabric supplies you will need.
One Layer Cake (Layer Cake is 42 squares that measure 10 x 10 and with a variety of patterns).
If you prefer to not use a Layer Cake you need 42 Squares of fabric that measure 10 x 10. (I purchase my Layer Cakes online at Fat Quarter Shop or Missouri Quilt Company …both of them provide excellent customer service … you can also find some Layer Cakes on Amazon … just make sure you get one that has 42 squares).
Although we will not be doing the actual quilting… many of you will want to buy your backing fabric and binding fabric at the same time.
You will have two choices
Option 1
Quilt measures 53 x 62 (6 rows across by 7 rows down)
Backing Fabric 3-3/4 yards
Binding Fabric 1/3 yard
Option 2
Quilt measures 45 x 72 (5 rows across by 8 rows down)
Backing Fabric 4-1/4 yards
Binding Fabric 1/3 yard
Don’t forget to buy matching thread!
The Longarm quilter will finish my quilt and she provides the batting …. so I did not include that on the supply list.
Chic n Clique will be celebrating it’s 1st birthday in March and I thought a Quilt Along would be something fun to try! I’ve never done a quilt along or participated in one ….. but I’m excited.
I’m giving away two – one month memberships to Chic n Clique … Leave a comment to enter to win.
See ya!
p.s. I’ll announce the winners on March 1st.
Update: Congrats to these three ladies for winning one free month on Chic n Clique!! I’ve sent all three of you an email .. check your inbox.

I would love to play along , I just received a layer cake today called Ambleside . It’s a moda fabric and very pretty . Now I’m brand new and been watching all your videos and looking at pictures of your quilts so you have inspired me . It’s all your fault I’m going broke , lol which fabric are you using and ate you hoping to be teaching us ! I hope so as I don’t have much of a clue. Cindy
I would love to quilt along but I don’t think my Layer Cakes by the 1st. I agree, Missouri Star Quilt has wonderful customer service, I first heard about them from you! Oh, maybe I could get some and make my daughter a baby quilt!! She is due in August 🙂
Just ordered my 10″ squares from Missouri Quilt Co. Look forward to this.
I would love to win this membership to quilt along with you & try out the Chic & Clique. I also have been watching all your quilt videos & have been buying the tools you have been showing. I am a newbie to quilting as I have never put one together, just been buying the fabric like the jelly rolls to sew one, but cannot get the courage to start. My question also is approximately how much does it cost to have someone finish it by doing the quilting? Love your videos!
Angie so glad you are adding quilt video–will try it out making a quilt. Thanks for the inspiration……..
Angie on the 42 squares 10X10 do they make both sizes–or if I wanted to make the larger one will I need to buy more squares. Sorry I have never done this and trying to get my supplies ready. Thank you.
Got my answer at Chic n Clique.
Congrats Raquel! you are one of the winners. Check your inbox for an email from me 🙂
Would love to try chic n clique. Have just started to gather items for my layer cake quilt. Can’t wait to start it and begin to use my stash of charm squares too.
Congrats Bonnie! you are one of the winners. Check your inbox for an email from me 🙂
Hi Angie, your quilts are all so pretty! I would love to have a chance
to try chic n clique.
This sounds like so much fun. I’ve never participated in a quilt along. Do you have a quilter’s forum at chic n click?
Hi Heather, yes we have a quilting forum .. but to be honest it just started 🙂 I hope it’s well received!! I’m super excited about the Quilt Along.
I may just have to join to check it out and quilt along with you and your crew. 😉
Excited about the quilt along. Just in the past week got all my quilt supplies out again…would love to be a part of this group.
Oh I’m so glad your doing this I love quilts an making them . I would love to be a part of making a quilt !!!!
Angie,
I’m so impressed with your quilts. I think Chase’s quilt turned out great and he will love it:)
They are wonderful keepsakes–I have some my Aunt made and I cherish them.
Looking forward to the quilt along!!!
Reading your blog always gives me inspiration. The last and only quilt I made was 14 yrs ago for my daughter. You have picked my side to start again thanks. I’ll be following your blog.
I love this idea. My granddaughter just made her first quilt last year at school ! She did a beautiful job and loved it 🙂 Actually teachers wanted to buy it . I asked her not to sell it since it was her very first. She has made 3 or 4 since then. Thank you for doing this !
Angie, thank you, thank you so much. I am doing a happy dance to be included as one of the winners of the Quilt Along! You are such a generous person with your time with all your health issues going on. I definitely know what you are living with. I think I have most of my tools as I am waiting on two items from Amazon right now. Now, I need to get my layer cake and I’m all set. Thank you again.
