Lulu Roses Quilt

February 16, 2015 by Angie 11 Comments

I had a different post planned for you today but when Shirley called this morning to tell me she had finished my Lulu Roses Quilt …. I couldn’t resist sharing a picture.

So, what do you think?   Darling isn’t it?   I absolutely love it and this one is all mine!!

I have it on the list of videos to make … it’s easy  … but it is one of the more time consuming quilts I’ve made!!  If you need a time frame of when I can have the video ready … I can safely say two weeks … maybe longer.  I need to rework the pattern to make it a smaller size.  I will warn you though … my seams do not always line up ….. as hard as I try … I still fail.   Shirley and I both said it’s too pretty for someone to say “your seams aren’t straight”.

I’m currently working a super simple quilt … again (I call this my recovery mode).

I wish the sun was out and the picture was better ….but it may be a few days before our weather changes!

See ya!

p.s. I disappeared for a few days … Dave took me to see John Mellencamp for Valentines Day (we were right in front of the stage) and I stayed on the couch all day yesterday.

Beautiful quilt. Homemade is not always perfect and that is what homemade is all about. Looking forward to what you are making now. Have a nice evening.

That’s gorgeous! Heck, I don’t match seams very well either, have you thought about a Log Cabin design? You can use jelly rolls or even narrower precut strips.

WOW, Angie. This turned out beautiful — as do all your quilts. I’m sure only your eyes see whatever seams don’t match (unless someone is using a magnifying glass). I agree with one of the other posters — it is handmade, therefore there will be glitches. That is one of the beauties of handmade products. Now you have shown me another quilt I will want to make. This is fun!

Your quilt is beautiful! I love the colors! Anything handmade is never perfect… that’s the charm of it all! Our paper crafting projects are not always perfect either! You seem to enjoy this, so don’t be so hard on yourself! Enjoy the process, as well as the outcome—it is gorgeous!

I’ve been wanting to join your quilt alongs and finally it’s going to happen. I’m retiring April 15 and woo hoo I’m joining in. Can’t wait to see what quilt I’ll be able to make.
