Picture of the Day #5

January 5, 2017 by Angie 6 Comments

My Picture of the Day #5 is Chili …. We got some snow over night and Dave woke up and ask if I would cook him some Chili.

I made a deal with him … if he would go to the store I would cook it.

Over the years I’ve tried many recipes for Chili, this is the one I’ve been making for the last 10 years ??  maybe longer!

  • 2 pounds of ground beef
  • 1 (15 oz) can tomato sauce
  • 1 (15 oz) can kidney beans (with liquid)
  • 1 (15 oz) can pinto beans (with liquid)
  • 1 large diced onion
  • 1 green pepper diced and chopped
  • 4 stalks celery chopped
  • 1 (15 oz) can petite diced tomatoes
  • 6 tablespoons Chili Powder (maybe even more…. like 9 tablespoons)
  • 1 tablespoon cumin (maybe more)
  • 2 teaspoons salt
  • 1 teaspoon black pepper
  • 2 cans of water (use the tomato sauce can)
  1. In large pot, brown ground beef with onions, green peppers and celery.
  2. Drain fat (if you use fatty meat)
  3. Combine the remaining ingredients and bring to a boil.
  4. Simmer on low for at least an hour … even longer is better! Make sure you stir often (at least once every 15 minutes)

Serve with:  Fritos, sour cream, shredded cheese, saltines and it even taste good with some egg dumpling noodles!

Special Note:  I do at least three taste tests … each time I add a little more spice until I like it.

Have a good night!

Picture of the Day #4

January 4, 2017 by Angie 2 Comments

Holy Smokes! I almost missed the picture of the day … thank goodness for alarm #4.

Today was a doozy of a day!!  I rushed out of bed to place my Bella’s Bundle order on the Stampin’ Up! website and it was down.  Down …. meaning nothing worked!  All my morning plans flew right out the window.   The good news is, all is well now! Whew!!

My Picture of the Day #4 is of Skittles (Green Cheek Conure).

The first picture is of her in the car on the way to the lake house.  She has very high metabolism and needs to be feed often… so on the road trip, she hops on the bowl and eats away… as I drive 🙂   Sometimes she hangs out on my shoulder… as I drive.  I always wonder if people see her and think we are crazy!!

Bath times are a hoot with Skittles!! She loves them and if you’re friends with me on Facebook you’ve seen a few of her videos.

Here’s a picture of her afterwards … all cozy in a towel (drying off).

Have a good night!

Picture of the Day #3

omg (gosh) this picture cracks me up!!!

Right in the middle of my Group Coaching call that I have with my team every Tuesday, my Apple Watch beeps and this is the message it gave me.  I totally lost it and had to share.  I was like … “does my phone know I’m talking a mile a minute and I need to breathe”?  LOL

This is how my day started…. I woke up at 6am (I’m a 7:30 kind of girl) and was checking email by 6:30 and on conference calls from 9am to 5:15pm.

I’m not complaining … just sharing!  Tuesdays are downline days and I love helping my team!

That’s all I’ve got today… see Day 3 of Picture of the day and I almost missed it.   Thank goodness for alarms on my iPhone (I have three set for picture of the day).

Have a great night!

Picture of the Day #2

January 2, 2017 by Angie 6 Comments

My picture of the day #2 is a picture of Bella that we took over the Christmas break … and it’s not just one picture but multiple!

We find her so funny at times and we can’t stop taking her picture when she’s acting all silly.

The picture below was altered using the Prisma app on an iPhone (pretty cool isn’t it?).

Gotta run, today is the last day for pre-orders for Bella’s Bundles and I have a million things to do (like making sure my math is right on  how much card stock to order).

See ya!
