Longarm Quilting

It’s my birthday week … in our house …. we milk it for all it’s worth and sometimes we even say it’s our birthday month! LOL

So … I decided to treat myself to a class on longarm quilting … even though I said I was going to wait until I retire to do longarm quilting (between you and I it’s possible I still may wait ….. I’m not totally sure I can do it).

My class is tomorrow from 2 to 5pm and it’s called a Certification Class. I’m excited and scared!!!

Gotta run …. since I won’t be working tomorrow that means double duty for today!!

New Fabric

Isn’t this fabric darling?

I usually buy most of my fabric online at either Missouri Quilt Company or the Fat Quarter Shop … but … I saw this fabric on Craftsy and I had to order it!!

It’s the Riley Blake Basic Variety Rolie Polies … and I ordered three of the four colors … I’m thinking I need to order the gray too!

I plan on making Jelly Roll quilts with these … maybe the yellow will be for Savanna, the blue for Cora and pink for Mallory?

But … I’m thinking out loud … meaning I may change my mind!!! Plus I’m not sure how it will look …… I think I will love it …but since I’m a visual person I won’t know until I break it open and start playing.

I’m sorry I’ve been absent the past few days!!!

I celebrated my birthday for several days … and I’ve worked a lot of hours!! Not only was it my birthday yesterday but it was also Chic n Clique’s first birthday and we’re celebrating all month long!!

Since I’ve felt pretty good … I decided to take advantage of it!!! I will admit that today I’ve felt like a slug …. I tried to take a nap but every person under the sun either texted me or tried to call me … so I gave up!

Dave is coming home tonight … gotta get back over the stove and finish dinner!

Birthday Surprise

I’m not sure where to begin!!

On Saturday Dave took me to one of my favorite restaurants (J Gilberts) to celebrate my birthday (actual b day is March 11th) …. and when I walked in … Ronda and Jenny yelled surprise. I was speechless … holy cow … they came all the way from Michigan to be with me. (Just typing it chokes me up!!)

I’ve been with them since Saturday evening … and yesterday our first stop was Ikea.

After Ikea we went to my favorite Mexican food restaurant and the rest of the time was spent stamping in my office. Wow I never stamp with anyone … and I have to say it was so nice!! I’m thinking I’ve got to do this more often!!

I’m stopping here for today … because I’m headed to the hotel to pick them up so that we can get started with our day.

Miss Bella

I’m sharing pictures of Miss Bella today …. along with a teeny tiny funny story.

The first two pictures are right after she returned from the groomer … she wanted inside ….. to get a treat ….. but I forced her to let me take her picture first. She really tried to ignore me …. LOL

The next picture is so hilarious … look at her mouth… she loves her bones!! I was afraid she was going choke … she did not.

The next two pictures were taken last week ….. I posted them on Facebook but forgot to post them here.

Now for my story … I was coming home today from getting my nails done and our street was blocked by a ton of police cars … officially our street (and one street over) was closed due to a gas line break (workers in the area hit a line and boy did it stink!!) So, the police gets out of the car and tells me I need to leave for a few hours and come back …. I said I’m sorry I can’t … I have to get home I have two kids and a dog. He said okay … go slow but stay inside the house.

As I was telling my sister the story …we both had a good laugh that I said two kids and a dog ….. LOL he must think I’m nuts.

Truth be told I wouldn’t have any problem saying I need to get home to my dog!!!
