I have fallen in LOVE with my Juki TL-2010Q sewing machine.
And to be honest I’m not sure why … but I think it may be the ease in which it sews a straight line.
I love all my sewing machines but I’ve noticed that this one does not pull to the left or to the right … which leads me to believe that it’s possible my other machines need a tune up. I oil them frequently so I know that’s not the problem.
My question for all of you is … what kind of sewing machine do you have … what do you love about it ….. share your pros and cons.
I’ll go first …
Pros …. it’s fast and accurate and the sound is very pleasant (I have sensory issues so the sound is very important).
Cons …. how to thread it requires me to watch a video every single time. And the tension can be a little tricky … which scares me because I’ve never touched the tension on my other machines. If you’re wondering how I knew my tension was all wrong … the thread underneath was all bunched up … it was a scary site!!
Now for a bit of personal stuff … I spent half my day dealing with heath stuff ….. doctors office, more bloodwork and a ultrasound …. I suspect a cat scan next and then next week the yucky stuff (we won’t mention any of those words). My most recent issue is I’ve developed a large mass on my neck … the mass itself does not hurt …but all around it does. Yesterday the pain was at a 8 or 9…. today I’m at a 5 or 6.
Here’s a picture of Miss Bella ….. when I got home from the tests I needed to lay down and take a nap … and she decided she had to climb on top of me. She always does that when I don’t feel good…. if only she knew that she was hurting me. I love her too much to tell her!!
Instantly Ageless … I’m super excited to say that I’ve gotten emails from five different ladies that the Instantly Ageless worked just like I said it would. I don’t use it when I’m sticking around the house …but every time I leave …. I apply it…. and each and every time … I’m amazed! When I’m feeling better I’ll add some more info about it … along with the other products (I LOVE the smell of the cleanser!!!).
See ya!

I have a brand new Viking and, so far, I am enjoying everything about it. My last machine was also a Viking and it lasted me over 35 years and I really made it earn its keep. I don’t think I have ever had a machine that did not sew in a straight line, unless I told it to do so. The tension on my new machine is great — easy to adjust if and when it is necessary; the bobbin is easy to take out and insert. The machine threads pretty much the same way as my old one; it has an automatic threader, but so far I just thread it myself because my fingernails keep getting in the way of the automatic threader. It runs quieter than my last one, but I don’t notice noise that much so it probably would not be a concern with me. Enjoy your new toy and I hope you will be on the mend soon.

Believe it or not I have a New Home 6000 which I’ve had over 20 years and have never had a problem it’s still going strong just love it. It’s so easy to thread also only had to change the light bulb once.

Hi Angie,
Keeping you in my thoughts and prayers. You’ve had your share of issues this winter, So Spring should be your time to SHINE.
I have a German made machine which I love. It’s made by Pfaff.
I also have a Singer serger, 4 thread. I’ve had it for 2 years and I have never used it. It totally baffled me so I took it next door to my neighbor, (she is a quilter), as she was going to give me lessons on how to use it. I have not gone back to her for the lessons. It’s been over a year. I’m wondering if it still belongs to me. LOL

I have a Baby Lock Crescendo. I love it! I have had it about a year. I love the sound. My absolute favorite feature is the pivot. When I take my foot off the pedal the presser foot raises so I can adjust my fabric. When I press again the presser foot goes back down and I’m back to sewing. It’s great feature for applique. I also love how it threads the needle; with my poor eyesight, even with bifocals, this is very helpful! I absolutely love it! I have never had a tension issue with either of my machines. I pray I don’t as I hear those are the worse problems to have! I also have a Baby Lock Sophia. It’s great for traveling and the occasional small embroidery project.
Good luck with your upcoming procedures. I can assure you the prep is worse than the actual procedure. I just had it done three weeks ago (my second and I’m your age). I hope you get resolution to your illnesses. You poor thing have been suffering for quite a while. No fun. You are in my thoughts and prayers!

I have a Singer Futura II in a cabinet that I have had for years that does not have much mileage on it. It was the top of the line back then. I have used it in spurts off and on and it still works pretty good. I also have a treadle machine that my mother tuned up with new belts and a good cleaning. I like using it every now and then. I want to buy a refurbished Singer Featherweight if I can find one for the right price as that is what my mother used all the time making my clothes while growing up. She traded it in for a new one before I knew it or I would have bought her machine. She said she didn’t realize I wanted it. We then tried to find it, but the store had already sold the machine. I do have the wood table as she had kept it. I am looking at a place in California that sells refurbished ones. I have been looking at new ones of different brands so will be reading all comments as to what everyone has and likes.
Good look with your health and be glad you are going in for your procedure. I almost passed out at work about five years ago and was sent to the emergency room and had to have three pints of blood and found out then that I had colon cancer. I am doing great now, but did not realize all that was going on. I never wanted to drink that stuff and never went in for a checkup. You will be in my prayers. Please keep us updated.

I had an expensive Pfaff sewing machine that was about 10 years old; however, I was never a daily (or sometimes even weekly) sewer. The last few years I didn’t sew much at all and when I went to do some sewing, lo and behold, the computer board died and it would have cost me about $400 to replace. So, I bought a $349 Janome that has all the things I need and I love it. I don’t do machine embroidery and I don’t need a high-tech computerized fancy machine. Love my Janome.
