While Dave was watching the football game last night … I was cutting fabric (sitting at the dining room table … just a few feet from him …. that qualifies for spending time together doesn’t it?).
Excuse the picture …. it was dark outside!
And as usual I found myself not being able to sleep this morning … so I placed my fabric on the design wall.
My first attempt was so awful … I won’t be showing you that one … the color mixture was yucky in my opinion. (Every time I say “in my opinion” I can hear the judge from the Good Wife say “do you mean in your opinion”? Those scenes crack me up!!!)
The picture below is option 1 ….. if you want to provide feedback on which one you like better feel free to post a comment …. or send me an email (but …. if I don’t sleep again tonight we may wake up to a finished quilt).
The next picture is Option 2 and it’s the one I have on the Design Wall currently … but … I think I may like the first one. I may proceed with option two … just because it will be easier to not change it back.
I think …. but not sure that this quilt will be for one of my nieces (when I’ve wrapped up the quilt top I’ll send her mother a picture …asking for approval).
Are you ready for a laugh? In between option one and option two … I bent down to see what Miss Bella was trying to get from under the chair ….. and when I raised up … I hit my head on the bannister. Yep, I had a good cry and then picked myself up and finished the blocks. Don’t feel bad … I am always doing stuff like this!!! (Hence the reason why I say I have two left feet.)
See ya!
p.s. still waiting on call from doctor that the specialist has been approved.

pretty squares…I agree with you, option 1, but if it’s a hassle to redo – forget it. Nice combination of colors. You are sooo talented!

Hi Angie,
I think option 2 . Option 1 seems too busy. It’s how it’s layed out that makes it look busy even though they both have the same fabric.
I really like the material you used on your Dad’s quilt.
Glad you made this blog for us to communicate with you.

Hi Angie — “In my opinion” (I worked in law firms for many years and constantly heard the phrase at work and it was almost always used in correspondence) I lean towards #2. Even though you used the same swatches/colors, for some reason I favor #2. But, no matter which you decide on it will be embraced lovingly. I am very glad to hear that, while you are muddling through your health problems and being unable to sleep, you can at least keep busy by creating something you know will be appreciated. Try to forget the negative you hear — I know it is easier said than done. But count the positive people that are there for you and appreciate everything you do and create against the negative big mouths. They are always around; it hurts, but they are the minority and you have bigger and better things to do than to let them bother you too much.

I like number 2. As a fellow quilter, the layout just fits the fabrics.
