Bernina Activa 230

I loved reading everyones response to the question of what kind of sewing machine they have and the pros and cons!!

So much so that I’m going to continue asking people to share.   Click here to leave your response on my original post.

I’m not in the market for a new machine …. yet … but ….. when our lake house is finished …. my Bernina Activa 230 will be staying there.

The Bernina Activa 230  was the machine that I carried back and forth to our old lakehouse  … in our new house I’ll have a small sewing room … right off the living room and I can’t wait for it to be finished so that I can sew for days.

We have a rule of no video games  … and no work unless it’s absolutely necessary at the lakehouse.   In the past,  I had a hard time following that rule …. I typically can only last about 3 days and then I go a bit stir crazy and find a way to go home.   But with my very own space to sew I think I’ll be more likely to stay longer.

I’m working on a Rag Quilt as a giveaway on Chic n Scratch  ….. I’ll be sharing pictures soon (I’ve made very little progress … hopefully to fit a few hours in this weekend).

I have an Cat Scan in a few hours ….. need to get in the shower.

p.s. I posted some info on how to purchase Instantly Ageless and it was wrong.  I will fix it as soon as I get all the details (the packing and prices just changed … hence the reason for some of the confusion).

    HI Angie,
Happy Easter to you and your family. Hope you get good news about your health and that you feel better soon. I have a brother machine SQ9185 that is quiet and has 3 speeds of how fast it will sew and you don’t need the foot presser. It has a button that you can turn on and off . (Love this feature). It has lots of quilting design options. Top drop bobbin which I love — always took me along time to thread my bobbin and needle on my old singer.
I just got this machine about a month ago so that I could do quilting but it’s a little difficult to machine quilt a lap quilt( I did manage to do straight lines on my lap quilt but I think I will just stick to making small items). I would like to make table runners and place mats. I haven’t come across anything that I don’t like about it yet. Less than $200.00 at W_M. I don’t want to advertise the company name but you can probably guess by the initials.
Have a nice day and I’ll be thinking and praying for you.

The machine also comes with a walking foot and several other feet items used for quilting and sewing.

Been thinking of you and wondering how your test are going. I hope they find out something soon.
