Double Slice Layer Cake Quilt

September 28, 2015 by Angie 9 Comments

hellodarling

The Hello Darling Layer Cake was made into the Double Slice Layer Cake Quilt.

Double-Slice-Layer-Cake-Quilta

It measures 53 x 63.

I’ll need 4-1/2 yards of backing fabric and 1/2 yard of binding fabric and then I’ll take it to my long arm quilter.

If you look real closely … you will find I made a mistake.   In my defense it was the first Double Slice Layer Cake Quilt I’ve made and I had no clue how many blocks went across and down … I figured out the hard way it should have been 6 blocks across and 7 down.

Question for you today ….

Would you be interested in participating in my Double Slice Layer Cake Quilt Along (it’s free)?    Let me know your thoughts!

See ya~

Holly’s Tree Farm

Hollys-tree-farm-quilta

I’m sharing another Jelly Roll Quilt that I made last week at Founders Circle.

For this Jelly Roll Quilt I used the Holly’s Tree Farm Jelly Roll by Sweetwater for Moda Fabric.

I found it at Quilted Works in St George Utah …but you can buy it online at Missouri Quilt Co.

I believe I’ll keep this quilt for myself … Stampin’ Up! has chosen to eliminate Founders Circle and this was the last one (yes I cried many times last week). This quilt will be a reminder of all the wonderful memories.

Gotta run …. I’m still playing catch up on work and I have an Online Workshop to prepare for and last minute Angie hasn’t even started preparing …. YIKES!

See ya~

Somerset Jelly Roll Quilt

September 21, 2015 by Angie 3 Comments

Here’s my week  (last week) …..

Monday:   Chase was sick all weekend and I took him to the walk in clinic … after several hours (like five or six) he was home in bed with medicine and I was trying to pack for Founders Circle.

Founders Circle is the top 100 Stampin’ Up! Demonstrators and this is my 7th year to attend.

Tuesday:  By some miracle I was packed and ready to go …  Laura took me to the airport for an early morning flight (one of the reasons I was packing my sewing machine was I was going in a day early). But …. my flight was delayed or canceled (not sure which) … so they switched me another airline … except it was leaving much later.  So, I called Laura … she came back and took me home.    I checked email and did a few works things … then she took me back to the airport.    I arrived in St George around 6pm … by that time all fabric stores were closed  … so much for arriving a day early!!

Wednesday:  First on my list … visit a Quilt Shop.  I choose Quilted Works  (they gave me a candy thank you the last time I was there and that’s all it took for me to remember them).

I bought three Jelly Rolls (and a whole lot more) and the first quilt I completed at Founders Circle was the Somerset Jelly Roll Quilt (will show you more later).

The ladies at Quilted Works were so fun and I think I was there for at least an hour just talking … I look forward to going there again!!

Thursday:  Started the Somerset Jelly Roll Quilt and finished it (or did I start it on Wednesday??)

Friday:  Kanab Tour (where they make the Stampin’ Up! stamps)

Saturday:  Went to Jill’s house  (she is awesome)  … Attended West Side Story

Sunday:  Arrived at airport to be told my flight was once again canceled … but … he was able to get me on another flight … it’s a good thing I got to the airport 2-1/2 hours early!!   This is also the day I woke up at 3am with a terrible sore throat … I’m really praying it will pass soon!

I have a week of playing catch up and I decided to start with email …. as of this minute  … I think all the important ones are complete.

See ya!

p.s. I shared all this because most weeks I only share awesome things … and believe me when I say it ….. my weeks are always a mix of complete awesomeness and total chaos!!

Eclectic Elements Jelly Roll Quilt

eclectic Elements quilt

I have another Jelly Roll Quilt for you today.

Here’s the details:

  • Fabric –  Eclectic Elements 2 Design Roll by Tim Holtz for Coats & Clark
  • Measures –  53 x 63
  • Next up  …. I will take 1/2 yard of binding fabric and 4-1/2 yards of backing fabric to my longarm quilter to finish.

This quilt is going to one of the guys in our family (I’m almost finished with the girls so it’s time to start on the dudes).

It just occurred to me earlier this week that you will get to see all these quilts again … when I get them back from the longarm quilter.   That reminds me I still need to call her and let her know I have about 20 quilts  … yikes!!   It’s on the top of my To Do List when I get home from Founders Circle.

See ya!
