How to cut carrots for cockatiels

Today I’m sharing how we cut carrots for our Cockatiel and Green Cheek Conure.

We use a cheese grater to cut all their fruits and vegetables …. you can see a picture of one below, found on Amazon (if you click on the picture it will take you there).

We’re feeding Elvis Harrison’s Bird Food – High Potency Super Fine.

Skittles eats the same food … just a different size. We usually order it on Amazon and our vet told us which size and potency to feed them (click on the picture below and it will take you to Amazon).

Skittles & me

It’s been a while since I posted … I’m so very sorry!

Our trip to Hawaii was lovely …but it put me about two months behind! I say two months because the amount of work I do in a day would scare you! That is …. if I’m feeling okay…. which I am. Or I should say I’m not feeling any worse.

I don’t have a lot of time … so I’ll keep it short and sweet.

The picture below appears that Skittles is trying to read 🙂 It just cracks me up!!!

Truth be told … I think she was about to take a nap but my clicking camera alerted her 🙂

I’ll try to get back on a schedule of posting more frequently.

Skittles Update

Skittles arrived safely at our house Saturday night and we LOVE her so much!

She is hilarious and I could already write a book about her!

Can you believe she takes naps on her back?

I’ve taken at least 100 pictures and about 25 videos …. and I’m thinking I want to steal her from Chase 🙂

I have ton of pictures to share … later this week. I have so many ….. I need to get them organized!!

Personal health update …. it just hit me that I forgot to update the Health page … I’ll do that as soon as I publish this post.

Meet Skittles

My picture today is the new addition to our family … meet Skittles. Isn’t she so cute?

She is a YELLOWSIDE GREEN CHEEK and she was born/hatched on February 25th.

Chase and his friends are taking a road trip tomorrow to pick her up … I wish I felt well enough to make that trip!

Technically it’s Chase’s bird … but … all animals love me and I love them …. I’m calling myself her 2nd mommy.

We have been getting weekly pictures of her since we was just a wee thing … I’ll have to share those pictures with you!!

p.s. We know what we’re getting into….we’ve owned birds before. Chase’s first pet (in first grade or was it 2nd?) was a fourteen dollar parakeet named Chirpy …. he talked up a storm …. we loved him so much and we still miss him!!
