How to cut carrots for cockatiels

August 15, 2017 by Angie 3 Comments

Today I’m sharing how we cut carrots for our Cockatiel and Green Cheek Conure.

We use a cheese grater to cut all their fruits and vegetables …. you can see a picture of one below, found on Amazon (if you click on the picture it will take you there).

Here’s my quick and dirty video on how to use it

We’re feeding Elvis Harrison’s Bird Food – High Potency Super Fine.

Skittles eats the same food … just a different size.  We usually order it on Amazon and our vet told us which size and potency to feed them (click on the picture below and it will take you to Amazon).

Have a great day!

p.s. If you have a bird, I’d love to see pictures!!

Thanks so much, I’m going to try that. We have been feeding him ZuPreem cuz that’s what the breeder was feeding him. Said to stick with it or bird can get sick and die. I have been cutting things up very tiny like the pellets. He ate the zucchini that way and seemed to love it but only once. Won’t touch fruit either. I have tried apple, orange, blueberries, banana and black berries. Would love to see videos of Elvis too. 🙂 Working on waving now. 🙂
