Soup for the sick

My post today is going to be quick … it’s been a heck of a day!

The picture you see above is a soup I threw in the crock pot and if it turns out I’ll share the recipe … although … I didn’t measure a thing!    I was in a hurry and figured I can taste test it ….. and add ingredients if needed.

It has Italian sausage, potatoes, kale and a whole lot of dairy that I can’t eat ….but the family can.  (Actually I’ll have a little …. the stomach ache will be worth a few bites of it … I think!)

After only four or five hours of sleep last night  … Chase woke me up sick!  Not only with cold symptoms but also throwing up (yucky).

So, off we went to the walk in clinic …..he has what I have … Bronchitis.

The rest of the day was shot after that … three sick people in the house now … grrrr!

Dave will be going to walk in clinic tomorrow … so here’s a funny story for you.

He ask me to call the doctor for him today and get an appointment for tomorrow or Friday ….. so I did and the earliest they can see him is March 24th …. I laughed and said he’d be dead by then …I was joking of course and said no problem he’ll go to the walk in clinic tomorrow.  So, then I called Dave and he says “but did you tell them who I am?”  LOL  seriously dude I love you …but this time of year it’s walk in clinic or the ER.   Chase and I laughed for a good 20 minutes… in between coughs.  You gotta find the laughter where you can!!

I hope you’re all staying safe, warm and healthy!

See ya!

p.s. I’m sad to sad the joint pain returned today (left shoulder, arm and hand)  … I was really hoping it was going to stay gone at least through the steroids!!  I cried for a good 30 minutes, took a hot bath and then a nap.  Pain is a little less right this minute …..but I feel it coming back.  I’d hate to go to the er for pain but I was pretty darn close today.

So sorry you are all sick, no fun at all especially when Mom still needs to take care of everyone else too. Try to rest and drink plenty of fluids too.

I’m feeling so bad, for all of you. I have my aches & pains but nothing compared with yours. I feel blessed and hope you are all feeling better, especially you.

Angie, have you ever tried the pills for lactose intollerance? My friend has a problem with dairy, but when she wants something, she takes a pill first and it helps.

Soup looks fabulous!! I use the lactose free milk. And eat lactose free ice cream. It’s funny though milk products don’t bother me when they are in recipes that are cooked or baked. But ice cream and milk by themselves no way.
