Video Camera Equipment

March 28, 2016 by Angie 3 Comments

I LOVE technology and I’m always eager to try new things!

My latest adventure is …..  I decided to finally break down and buy a camera boom 🙂

Are you scratching your head wondering what the heck is a Camera Boom?

It’s easier to post a picture (I borrowed this picture from online)

camera boom

What it will do is allow me to film videos from up high and  in low spots.  Meaning when I cut fabric I can raise the camera above my head … and when I’m at my sewing machine I can lower it.   I’m super excited!!

When I film my paper crafting videos I have a camera that hangs over my desk ….but that area doesn’t work for fabric because the desk is small and I need a much larger area to cut fabric.

It going to take a few weeks to arrive (maybe even three)  …. so we’ll probably finish the Lulu Roses Quilt before it arrives.

See ya!

How exciting! Would you mind sharing a link to where you got it? This one looks like it might be sturdy enough to handle my heavy camera. 🙂

      Hi Heather,
I always buy my camera equipment on Amazon and I usually make my decision based off reviews. If you type in Camera booms on Amazon it will bring up a lot of choices and you need several parts to make it work (Tripod, weight, boom or jib). The most important factor is the size (12 foot, 8 foot, 5 foot or 4 foot) it will depend on your space. I bought a small one because my office is in the basement. And … what camera you’ll be using? I’ll be using a smaller camera and maybe even my iPhone or iPad until I get really comfortable using it. Here’s the link: http://www.amazon.com/ePhotoInc-Video-Crane-Camera-MJ906A/dp/B00LW7GV5I/ref=pd_sim_sbs_421_5?ie=UTF8&dpID=41XwQICZcSL&dpSrc=sims&preST=_AC_UL160_SR160%2C160_&refRID=1G67D83JQCAVF572Z2HS

Thank you, Angie. I have a tri-pod, but was hoping it would work for my Cannon DSLR. My camera might be too heavy though. I’ll look into it. Thanks again for the link. I <3 Amazon for things like this.
