Skittles & me

June 15, 2015 by Angie 5 Comments

Skittlesreading2a

It’s been a while since I posted … I’m so very sorry!

Our trip to Hawaii was lovely …but it put me about two months behind!  I say two months because the amount of work I do in a day would scare you!  That is  …. if I’m feeling okay…. which I am.  Or I should say I’m not feeling any worse.

I don’t have a lot of time … so I’ll keep it short and sweet.

The picture below appears that Skittles is trying to read 🙂  It just cracks me up!!!

Truth be told … I think she was about to take a nap but my clicking camera alerted her 🙂

I’ll try to get back on a schedule of posting more frequently.

See ya!

p.s. I updated my health page …. although there’s not much to tell.  I’m sorry I worried some of you!

Home at last

Haleiwa bridge

I’m happy to report I’m home!!

We were in Hawaii for 10 days … plus the travel time.

My blog posting came to complete halt when I realized we were actually going.

All along I kept waiting for a sign that it was not meant to be  …. turns out I got a sign … just a little too late (our flight was cancelled and we didn’t know until we arrived at the airport at 4 in the morning).

I’m won’t bore you with all the awful details of working all that out ….. as it turns out I was able to rest for most of the trip and I returned home feeling pretty good.   My time clock is a little wonky but other than that I can’t complain.

The picture above was taken in one our favorite places on the Island of Oahu …  the little town of Haleiwa.  We liked it so much we traveled up there twice.

I’ll share more pictures and details in the coming days!

See  ya!

Modern Folkloric Double Scoops Quilt

May 1, 2015 by Angie 2 Comments

modern-folkloric-double-scoopsragquilta

The Modern Folkloric Double Scoops Quilt is complete.

Technically you can call it a Jelly Roll Quilt  …but because of the brand of fabric …. it’s called a Double Scoop instead of a Jelly Roll.

I love all the cute fabric names!!

I explained this quilt back a few months ago … and I didn’t want to show it until the person received it.  She received it yesterday.

Here’s a picture of the quilt top before I took it to the long arm quilter …..

I was at KU Medical for several hours yesterday (tests)  then I rushed home to pick up the house before the house cleaners came ….. and then Dave and I went to the awesome Royals game.

I’m too tired to even think today.

See ya!

p.s. I’ll update the Health page as soon as I can a burst of energy (let’s pray that’s tomorrow morning).

Ambleside Quilt Top

April 28, 2015 by Angie 2 Comments

AmblesideFatQuarterQuiltc

The Ambleside Quilt Top is finally complete!

It took me longer than expected …. because I kept changing my mind.

I started with 5 Fat Quarters and then changed it to 7.

It measures 47 x 72 … crazy size I know!

Next time I’ll mix up the fabric and make it wider.

I could have added another row ….but I had already bought my backing fabric.

Next up … I’ll be taking this quilt to my longarm quilter.

Here are the posts about the Ambleside Quilt

  1. Ambleside Quilt Wip
  2. WIP

UPDATE

Here’s all the details for this quilt …..

  • Quilt measures:  47 x 72
  • Fabric Line:  Ambleside by Moda Fabrics
  • Fabric needed:  7 Fat Quarters & White Jelly Roll + backing and binding fabric
  • 7 rectangles/blocks across –  6 rectangles/blocks down.
  • 7 patterns of fabric – you need 6 rectangles of each pattern.
  • Each Rectangle measures:  5 x 10
  • Attach a white 2-1/2 x 5 rectangle to the bottom of each 5 x 10 rectangle.
  • 10 Sashing Strips (I used White Jelly Roll Strips)
Special Notes
  • Attach a 2-1/2 x 5 white strip to the bottom of each rectangle (except bottom row – that will be a long sashing strip)

See ya!
