I’m happy to report that I’ve wrapped up the Fat Quarter Quilt Along and the final video is posted below.

If you would like to make your quilt larger all you need to do is buy more Fat Quarters and add more rows.

I’ve decided to make another Fat Quarter Quilt …. using another color … will share pictures soon!

Fat Quarter Quilt Along Video 2

I have decided that fabric choice is very important!

The Pink Fat Quarter Quilt turned out LOVELY!

The Blue Fat Quarter Quilt … what can I say … it just doesn’t compare to the pink.

But … the person that receives this quilt will surely love it (especially if blue is their favorite color).

The Pink Quilt is mine … I usually always keep my prototypes (will eventually will passed to my children/grandchildren) …  and the Blue one is going to a children’s hospital.

Once the blue quilt top is quilted … I’m sure it will be beautiful!

And … my photography at our house in Kansas is not as good as my lake house photography.  Our back deck at the lake house over looks the lake and is among a ton of trees (and light). Whereas my house in Overland Park faces a different direction and has houses everywhere (backdrop not so good).

  1.  Set your seams and press them.  Press your seams to the dark side.
  2.  Place row 2 right sides together to row 1, pin it and sew with a 1/4 seam.
  3. Repeat with rows 3 & 4, 5 & 6 and then add row 7 at the end.  Once you’ve sewn all two rows together then sew all of them together.
  4. Add sashing to the left of row 1, pin and sew it.
  5. Add sashing to the top of the Quilt and the bottom, pin and sew it with a 1/4 seam.
  6. Measure your quilt for the Backing Fabric, Batting and Binding Fabric.

Lulu-Roses-Quilt-along-complete

It measures 59 x 67 and will need 4-5/8 yards of Backing Fabric (& Batting) and 1/2 yard of fabric for the Binding.

Next up … I’ll be taking it to my longarm quilter to finish!
