Double Slice Layer Cake Quilt Along

October 5, 2015 by Angie 3 Comments

It’s official … we’re starting our Double Slice Layer Cake Quilt Along.

I’m sharing Video 1 and 2 today … and it may be a week before I can post the next two videos.  I will do my best to post them sooner but Dave and I are going to the lake house this weekend and I have a million things to do before we leave.

Video 1

  • Covers the Supplies.
  • List was posted last week … click here to view it.

Video Two:

  • The Layer Cake Squares measure 10 x 10.  Make your first cut at 3-1/2″.
  • That gives you one piece that measures 3-1/2 x 10 and the other is 6-1/2 x 10.
  • Make sure you keep your stacks lined up (very important).

If you have any questions please post them on our Chic n Scratch Quilt Along Facebook Group.

See ya!

    Hi Angie,
I am SO excited to see these step by step quilting videos from you! I mentioned before that I really want to learn how to quilt and have a sewing machine. I don’t know the first thing about even threading the dang thing, I am a fast learner.
There is a Quilt Shop also near my house, so I think I am going to take a beginners class or as I usually do – jump in head first and just wing it! Where do you purchase the fabric collections? Are those 12×12 squares in coordinating colors? See, I am scapbooker at heart…
I have seen prepackaged strips of fabric at Walmart, I made a lamp shade from it last summer. Do you purchase any of your supplies from the sewing deptartment there?
Well, thanks for turning me into a crazy quilting women, my scrubby ( scrapbooking hubby ) is just shaking his head.
    Hugs,
    Gale The Happy Stamper =)
