Miss Kate Flannels Rag Quilt

April 5, 2015 by Angie 5 Comments

Miss-Kate-Flannel-Rag-Quilt-pic

This is what I’ve been working on this week … a Rag Quilt using the Miss Kate Flannels.

I’m giving this quilt away to one lucky person over on my Chic n Scratch website.   It’s going to be an ordering incentive for the month of April and everyone that orders will get one ticket per $25. (Laura and I will take turns writing the names each day.)

I will work on getting a better picture …. it was cloudy today!

Personal stuff …. the last I spoke I think I mentioned a cat scan …. no results yet …but …. it took them five sticks to find a vain…. they finally used my wrist.  You do not want to see my arms ….. five pokes from them … one from blood work on Monday and another from blood work Friday before and ….. I slipped with the scissors and cut myself … as you can imagine … it’s a scary sight!

I hope you  had a Happy Easter!  We had our niece and nephew in from Indiana … we had an awesome visit with them  … but I’m totally exhausted!!

See ya!

p.s. Isabelle picked out her fabric this weekend …. so I’m going to start working on her Jelly Roll Quilt … I’ll start showing pictures soon!

Atelier Jelly Roll Quilt

March 30, 2015 by Angie Leave a Comment

Maggiesquiltb

My post today is Maggie’s quilt and we shipped it out today.

I used the Atelier Jelly Roll 3 Sisters for Moda Fabric and you saw the Quilt Top back when I finished it.

I wish I could say I just finished this quilt …. because that would mean I’ve been sewing …. but sadly I have not.

A week ago today  … .. I hit a snag …. and the rest of the  week followed suit.  I swear … when it rains it pours!!!

Now that a few of the snags have been fixed … I’m in catch up mode.  Physically and mentally I need to be able to check some boxes (aka get stuff done) so that I can breathe a little easier.

If you requested a sample of Instantly Ageless or ordered a sample … they’ve officially been mailed out.  And yes, they are packaged in my cute little holder …. now that I say that I think I forgot to post the picture last week …so here it is…..

I have two videos to edit by tomorrow morning …. and I need a nap in a big big way!

See ya!

1st Jelly Roll Quilt

March 22, 2015 by Angie 7 Comments

cherish-nature-quilt-bfinal

This is my very first Jelly Roll Race Quilt and if you look real closely you can see I failed to remove the 18″ at the end (if you don’t remove the 18″ …. all your seams will likely be in the same spot on each row).

It’s still a beautiful quilt …. and I’m keeping it for sentimental reasons (it was my 1st)  click here to read the original blog post about my Jelly Roll Race Quilt back in January.

I used the Deb Strain Cherish Nature by Moda Fabric and it was in my stash of fabric I bought years ago … (I’ve looked and can’t find it available).

Here’s a picture showing the backing fabric …

Health Update:  Brooke is feeling a tad better and we hope she feels well enough to return to school tomorrow (college).  I saw my doctor on Thursday and tests are scheduled for April 7th.  (I updated the health page if you want all the yucky details.)

Blog Candy …. I’ll draw the winner for the Blog Candy tomorrow … click here to leave a comment to enter to win.

Lulu Roses Butterfly Quilt

March 19, 2015 by Angie 6 Comments

lulurosesbutterflyquiltb

My picture today is the Lulu Roses Butterfly Quilt … excuse my picture!

It’s raining for two days straight and I decided to share a less than perfect picture …. I can’t wait any longer 🙂

This quilt measures 57 x 72.

It was supposed to be larger ….but I messed up!  If you’ll remember my blocks started out as 8-1/2 squares …but I cut them without paying attention the direction of the grain and that resulted in some of my blocks stretching (can you tell this part of quilting continues to confuse me).    To correct the mistake I squared up my blocks and they measure 7 inches.

Click here to read more information about cutting fabric with  your Accuquilt Fabric Cutting System.

One note about cutting the butterflies … when I’m cutting butterflies, flowers, squares, circles .. etc.  I don’t pay attention to the grain because I’m doing a raw edge applique.   I’ve made a ton of them and they all turn out beautiful!!!

Click here to see all the posts on the Lulu Roses Butterfly Quilt.

When the sun comes out and Brooke has time …. we will take more pictures and post them.   (The quilt is white …but with the cloudy skies is looks cream).

Layer Cake Quilt Along – I posted Video #10 of the Layer Cake Quilt Along on Chic n Clique today … I can’t believe it’s almost over.   I’m for sure doing another one!!

Longarm Quilter – If you emailed me about my longarm quilter finishing your quilts ….. I spoke with her on Monday and she said yes, she does offer long distance service ….. in fact she has several ladies that sends their quilts to her.  If you would like her info please leave a comment or send me an email.

See ya!
